# Vegan Scan Terms of Use

Effective September 11, 2026.

By using Vegan Scan, you agree to these terms.

## Informational service

Vegan Scan helps interpret product information and community evidence. Results can be incomplete, outdated, or incorrect and do not guarantee that a product is suitable for every diet, belief, allergy, or medical condition. Packaging and manufacturer guidance control when they conflict with the app.

## Your contributions

Only upload photos and text you created or are permitted to share. Contributions must describe the matching product and must not contain personal information, unlawful material, spam, advertising, harassment, or deliberately misleading information. You grant Vegan Scan permission to store, review, reproduce, and display your contribution for operating and improving the product catalogue and community.

## Community safety

We may rate-limit, reject, hide, remove, or review content and restrict installations that manipulate confirmations, reuse evidence, spam, or mislead other shoppers. You can report suspicious community content in the app.

## Availability and changes

Product data and features may change as the catalogue and verification systems improve. We may suspend a feature for maintenance, security, legal, or reliability reasons. We do not promise uninterrupted availability.

## Data licences

Open Food Facts-derived data remains subject to its required attribution and the Open Database License. Vegan Scan-specific design, software, analysis, moderation, and original community data are separate except where an applicable open-data licence requires otherwise.

## Liability

To the extent permitted by law, Vegan Scan is provided as-is without warranties. Vegan Scan is not responsible for decisions made solely from an app result, indirect losses, or a manufacturer changing a recipe without notice. These terms do not limit rights that cannot legally be limited.
